9-28-09 Elder Hyer the Chorister

…Elder Moore is getting transferred to the Donboss, and President said in his e-mail that he's giving me a good companion so we can work really hard next transfer. I think and kind of hope I'll get Elder Moon, the kid that kicked me out of Lugansk who Thompson is still training. We'll see what happens. I just what to work hard and get back in to the hang of things.

We set up a basketball hoop in the church parking lot, so now we're inviting kids to come play with us and can start doing basketball contacting, which will probably be the most effective and coolest way to find young guys to teach.

Every Sunday, I lead the music and have to sing so loud to try and get other people to sing, because the few that do sing more like whisper. Just imagine that, it's like a loud solo every week. Yes, of course it's terrible, why would you ask such a question? Stop laughing, it's not funny either, it's awful. Ukrainians are the worst singers in the world. They don't even like to sing. And it's also because Ukrainians only know about 20 songs which they always sing, so when you sing a different one, they don't even attempt to follow along. After Sacrament, we try and teach them a new hymn each week, so it's pretty much me trying to figure out how to sing it as Elder Moore plays the piano. Yea, we mess up a lot and we all just laugh about it.
